Aha...! moment

From past 6 months, may be more, there was a mental picture of a girl whom I know but cant recall how or from where I know her. Short, dark complexion, slightly curly hair, long tooth may be Tamil or Telugu girl. I faintly recall that we were in some kind of school together. Almost, everyday I quiz myself and cross-off all the possible places I would have met her.

I think it would have happened to many of us... Believe me its so frustrating and mentally tiring.

Today while I was taking a bath in the morning, I connected the dots. She was from Alliance Franciase, Hyderabad, where I took french classes for a brief period of time in 1999.

Boy ! imagine the biological part of it... a small electrical signal with my query would have ran pillar to post all through out my brain... short term memory cells, long term memory cells... every day one task... who is she... atlast like a file in a typical government office one memory cell would have pulled it out and said... I thought its useless piece of information... anyways take it and make your boss happy... ;)

I will shorty scan that picture and post it here. << at-last I scanned the picture.. girl i was mentioning is circled.... and I was amazed to see full hair on my head...:P... this picture was taken on 24th April 1999.
Note: For Hyderabad residents this is when Alliance Francaise was beneath Birla science museum. Background of the picture is much changed now.

I felt this was funny...

A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO paperwork, and was burned out.

Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial; he decided to become a mechanic.

He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could.

When the time of the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill.

When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying, “I don’t want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade.

“The instructor said, “During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark.

You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark.”

After a pause, the instructor added, “I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I’ve never seen done in my entire career.”

This August 15th was Special...

I woke up by the calling bell sound... I strictly instructed our "trash-wala" not to ring the bell to collect the trash... habits die hard... I dint get much sleep... I woke up...
I was traveling last two weekends.... I thought ... vow ! This weekend I am free. I checked google calender for my pending tasks... usual stuff... groceries, clean home and other organizing chores...
I went to "Yummy-tummy" nearest fast food restaurant had some breakfast... Because of this swine flu in our city nobody is venturing out to eat... I went to nearest supermarket.. bought groceries I bought mushrooms... I wanted to cook something special for the day... I came home and laid on couch... then came a call... I guess will change my life... forever...
The call was from my wife and she said I need to start immediately... her doctors says, we can expect our baby in few hours... I did not know how to react... and hung-up. I decided flight will be faster and strain-free. I booked a ticket online and called Sashi, my colleague, to drop me at airport. I took ticket print out at my Office and Sashi dropped me at airport... all this in less than one hour from time I hung-up... surprisingly... airport was not open... I was said to wait 15 min... all of a sudden heavens opened up... Was it a sign of something...?!
I was thinking all they way to the airport about my wife... how we met... how we spent time with each other... Rome, Zurich,Paris,Prague, Kerala, New york, Niagara, Dallas... marriage, honeymoon... phone calls... time is flying fast... I realized ... now I will be a dad... that feeling is still not getting registered in my brain... I took flight to Mumbai first I changed the terminal to board Kingfisher flight to Hyderabad and I was in a transit shuttle... then news came... my father-in-law said my wife delivered a healthy baby... All smiles... I asked is everybody healthy... he said yes... I was so very happy... I desperately wanted to look at her... flight was on time.. landed in Hyderabad... Airport is was superb... I took a 120 rupees bus to City college... then I shared auto rickshaw with one guy... and we split the cost... then had dinner at Imlibun bus station... still long way to go... Luckily I found a bus which goes to the place I want to go.. at 11 PM ... I boarded it and slept... all the way... I reached destination at 4 AM, Aug 16th ... I ran to my in-laws place and washed my hands legs and face to avoid any "swine-flu" contamination... then quickly took a 15 min walk to the hospital where my wife delivered...
I looked at my wife... she smiled but she looked exhausted... then I looked at my daughter... My emotion was blank... I kept staring at her... she was fair, thick black hair, long eyes, chubby cheeks... pink lips... she was sleeping... I was very happy to look at her... I was sure she will bring more joys to me as time passes...
I am into next stage of cycle of life... Parenthood.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen -- My review

I just came out of this movie. For the first time I watched an English movie in a theater, after 2003, in India. Difference I observed 1. Sound Effects.... I found it so annoying initially... I thought I would bleed out of ears... 2. there is an interval in the movie which very much surprised me. Hey... i forgot one more thing... "Jana gana mana..." Indian national Anthem was sung before movie started...I am not sure if this practice is all through out India

Its same old "Decepticon-Autobot"... young hero "Sam" and "epic battle"... crap. Naturally, movie was attempted to be more action packed... more sentimental more romantic... more everything...

My opinion... director Michael Bay was successful in telling the story interestingly... Dint feel bored all through the movie... but once I felt silly when parents of Sam were brought into Egypt desert for no reason... Also, many times I felt Megan Fox terribly needs a B**b job... this time she did not look as dumb blonde as in Transformers Part I.

All in All... 3/5... its watchable movie lived up to the expectation of Michael Bay...
